Your ledger is private by default.

PintHub is operated in Ireland. This notice explains what the service stores, why it is needed, and the choices you control.

What PintHub stores

Your account email and profile name, the pints you choose to record, pub and town names, ratings, dates, times, notes, optional prices and optional pourer names. If you pin a pub using an address or your device location, PintHub stores the resulting coordinates as that pub's map position.

Why it is used

This data is used to provide your ledger, sync it across devices, calculate your behavioural PintPrint and annual recap, show your private pub map, and publish only the profile details you explicitly switch on. PintPrint traits are reproducible summaries derived from your own records, not medical or scientific profiling, and are never used to set a drinking target.

Private and public profiles

Every profile starts private. If you make yours public, your chosen display name, handle and biography may appear in PintHub's member search. You separately choose whether visitors can see your summary stats, PintPrint, pub list and map. A shared PintPrint shows only the resulting personality, trait scores and confidence, not the dates, times, notes or individual records used to calculate them. A shared pub list may include aggregate optional price averages. PintHub never publishes your email, notes, dates, visit times or pourer names.

Services involved

PintHub uses its hosting and database providers to run and secure the service. Supabase provides account authentication and processes your email address, login session and essential security information for that purpose. PintHub's transactional email provider processes your address and delivery information when sending a sign-in link. When you search for a pub, the words you type and an approximate device position you choose to share are sent to Photon, an OpenStreetMap-based place search service, or to Google Maps Places if that service is connected. Google results are subject to the Google Maps terms and Google Privacy Policy. Pub Roulette is different: you type a starting area manually, Photon resolves it, and PintHub sends that chosen point and radius to the OpenStreetMap Overpass service to find nearby pubs and bars. Roulette never requests your device location and does not store your Roulette search history. OpenStreetMap venue records discovered in searched areas are cached in PintHub's open-data venue index with their source identifier, name, public address and coordinates. This improves coverage and reduces repeated public-service requests, but it is not treated as proof that a user visited. OpenStreetMap tiles power PintHub's maps. After you save a pint, its selected pub name and address may be sent once to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to position the pub on your map, and that result is cached. If you separately choose nearby results or current location while logging a pint, your browser asks permission first.

Retention and deletion

Your account data is kept while your PintHub account remains open. In Account & privacy you can permanently delete your login identity, PintHub profile and every pint linked to it. Shared recap images already saved by you are outside PintHub's control.

Your choices and rights

You can view, correct and delete your entries, withdraw public profile visibility, and delete your PintHub data. Depending on the law that applies, you may also have rights of access, restriction, portability and objection, and may raise a concern with Ireland's Data Protection Commission.
